Ocean Runner had a couple of Tuna Trips this week. The 1st was with
the Daniel Thompson Party from Hersey,
Penn. Ocean Runner fished to the east of
Stellwagon Bank. There were plenty
of fish, but they didn't seem to want to eat. We did have a take down and
the fish spit the hook after 20 minute. The good news is there seemed to
be
plenty of smaller fish around. The 2nd trip was like the first, but we
landed a 67 " fish and release it un harmed.
We switched to using live pogys. They seemed to be a little better
than mackerel. We also caught lots
of big cow Bluefish on the kites as well. Striped Bass
fishing was excellent this week. we had our limit within a few hrs of
fishing. The fish are stacking from the Coast Guard Station all the way
to the Bath House. We found the using Black and red jigs to be the best.
There are some Bluefish mixed in with them.
Now the best for last. We did a Cod Fish Trip yesterday and we had the pleasure of having the Ex Boston Bruin great Fred Knipscheer on the boat and Edwin Rodriques 2 time National Armature Boxing Champ and Undefeated Pro champ at 16-0. Who is doing a title fight on Show time in October. It was a banner Cod day.
We had non-stop action from the time we had the lines in until it was
time for lines out. We had our limit of Cod in no-time. Also, Edwin
caught a nice 15 lb. Wolf Fish that was released un harmed. Also, there
were some nice Bull haddock in the mix as well. We were jigging 14 oz
jigs about 8 miles East of South Shoals in about 240 ft of water.
Brian is Bass Fishing today. I am shore he is doing well. Have a good
week.

Friday July 2 2010 Ocean Runner Charters had the Kevin Kearns party from St. Pete, Florida, this week. We took them ground fishing, they left with their limit of nice Cod. Also, they had a great mixture of Pollock, Haddock, and Cusk as well.
Cod Fish are still moving into deeper water now so, you may have to use some muscles to get them up. Ocean Runner caught all the fish jigging East of Middle Bank on Stellwagen in 180-220 ft. Also, this week. The Hagerty party from NJ had a great day fishing for Blue Fin Tuna. After several hook-up of fish up to 70" and all fish release swimming I was astounded to see all the smiles on their faces. All fish were brought to the boat using stand up 50's in 45 minutes or less. The fish were caught using live mackerel and pogy's on a kite on the SW Corner of Stellwagon and at Peaked Hill Bar.
On Monday Ocean Runner took two real cowboys from Nebraska, Carl and Travis. They were in town to compete at the Marshfield rodeo. We took them Bass and Blue Fishing. Fish were stacked at the Race in Provincetown. We worked our way towards Wood End and found that near the Bath House held the Bigger Bass. Using black and red jigs seemed to worked the best. Ocean Runner Charters once again had a great week of fishing. Ocean Runner still has a few great dates open, but they are going fast. Call and reserve your trip for this year.
