We had Alan Joughin and his co-workers on board today for some great bass and tuna action. Our plan was to go get some nice bass first and then troll the deep water for the bluefin. Boy were these guys in for a surprise! We arrived at the race after a nice ride across the bay and were the only boat in sight. Capt. Brian slowed the boat down and the jigs were let out. BANG BANG both rods doubled over only seconds after hitting the bottom. One 38” bass and a 42” bass came into the cockpit. This action lasted all morning with double hook-ups and big bass. Once our limit of bass was in the boat we headed to the deep-water and started trolling for the bluefin. There was a fleet of boats trolling the area and with no whales or hook-ups reported. Capt. Brian decided to get away from the fleet and find some better signs of life. Once away from the fleet, whales and bait started showing up and it was only a matter of time. Capt. Brian made a turn around the whales when there was a huge boil on our starboard outrigger and line started peeling off the reel. Dan grabbed the rod and we were on! After 25 minutes of a great fight the beautiful fish came up to the boat and was gaffed. What a day! Limit of bass and nice 52” bluefin tuna to top it off. Call now to get into this great action!
